Difference Between Nikah & Court Marriage
Most people don’t know the difference between a nikah and a court marriage in Pakistan. The nikah and the court marriage are not the same thing. There is a difference between nikah and court marriage in Pakistan. Generally, people who want to get married arrange the ceremony in their own home and invite their guests. The people also arrange the marriage halls for this purpose. The solemnization of the marriage ceremony through the local priest from the mosque, and the rest of the functions are done. The religious ceremony of the marriage is called the nikah. The couple who want to get married in privacy or against the wishes of their parents generally avail themselves of the services of a court marriage in Pakistan. The nikah and the court marriage are not the same. There is a difference between nikah and court marriage in Pakistan.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NIKAH AND COURT MARRIAGE: Below are some differences.
Ø NIKAH IS PART OF COURT MARRIAGE:
Nikah is a part of court marriage. The people who want to do a court marriage in Pakistan think that they will go to a magistrate and register their marriage, and it will be done. They generally think that there will be no nikah services in a court marriage. This is not the case. Whoever comes for the services of the court marriage also has to perform the nikah ceremony. In the court marriage services, the courts licensed marriage registrar performs the nikah ceremony, so the nikah is a part of the court marriage in Pakistan.
Ø ONLY NIKAH IS NOT A COURT MARRIAGE:
Only nikah is not a court marriage. In the services of court marriage, the legal process is also involved, and the marriage is registered legally with complete legal protection.
Ø LEGAL PROTECTION:
In the services of court marriage, you get complete legal protection from the court. The legal protection is required against any criminal litigation in the future. Generally, this marriage is against the consent of the parents, so there is always the possibility of criminal litigation against the bride and the groom. The services of the court marriage come with legal protection against any such adventure. On the other hand, in arranged marriage, there is no such apprehension of criminal cases, so legal protection is not required.
Ø LAWYERS’ OFFICE:
Nikah is generally done at a house, mosque, or marriage hall, whereas the court marriage is done in the lawyers’ office. If you need the services, you may contact a lawyer and book an appointment. The court marriage, including the nikah services, will be conducted in the lawyer’s office
Ø COURT PROCESS IN COURT MARRIAGE:
Generally, the court process is involved in the court marriage, whereas no court process is involved in the nikah services. When you arrange a marriage, there is no apprehension of any court case, so the court process is not required for arranged marriages.
Ø COURTS NIKAH REGISTRAR:
In the services of court marriage, the nikah services are conducted by the courts’ licensed nikah registrar in Pakistan, whereas in the arranged marriage, the bride and the groom arrange their own nikah khawan from their area.
